Your Letters
My joint interests with MP are not commercialGlenn Morrison (Letters, Jan 19) clearly intends to mislead your readers into thinking that Gerald Howarth MP and I have joint commercial interests. We do not, nor ever have had.
We do both sit on the Council of the Air League, a charitable association established in 1909 to promote air-mindedness in Britain. We are also both trustees of the VTS project, a charity which is restoring a Vulcan bomber to flying condition, hopefully in time to lead the fly-past over London to mark the 25th anniversary of the Falklands War in June.
Neither of these positions is remunerated in any way whatsoever. Indeed, far from accepting any reward, Mr Howarth has successfully raised some £500,000 for the Vulcan charity.
